Ultra Marathon for School Build

The Kirkbymoorside 10k raises funds for the PTA groups of Kirkbymoorside and Gillamoor primary schools – both of these are feeder schools to Ryedale school so this campaign is close to our hearts.

Staff and Governors from Ryedale School will be running a 30 mile ultra-marathon to raise funds towards the new school build which is now well under way. The cost of the build is coming directly from the school budget so any money raised will reduce the effect of an effective reduced operating budget for may years to come.

We are very excited about our new build at Ryedale School which is now underway and will enable us to grow to accommodate 700 students. The project, including refurbishments of existing classrooms, will greatly enhance our facilities and learning environment, benefiting our students now and for years to come. The building work will be paid for from the school’s general funding and is not dependant on donations. However, as staff we want to do our bit, alongside our superb Friends of Ryedale School (formerly our PTA), to help raise as much money as possible so we can repay the loan required for this project as soon as possible – hence the Ultra Marathon!

We will be running 30 miles on Saturday 14th October 2017- the route will take in each of our feeder primary schools: Gillamoor, Kirkbymoorside, Sinnington, Hovingham, St Hildas, St Benedicts, Helmsley and Nawton, finishing at Ryedale School. We would greatly appreciate your support in raising as much money as possible for Ryedale School.
