A big thank you to Kim Cavill, co-founder of Cavill Coaching in Malton, who delivered two inspiring and motivating assemblies to the students of Ryedale School on Monday 5th February.
Kim spoke to the students about not being remotely sporty at school and remembered when she was asked to join the secondary hockey team to ‘make up numbers’. Kim’s first running race was a Race for Life in her early 20s which led to her joining her local running club.

She has since competed in many races with lots of top 10 finishes and 1st Lady wins, including the local Hardmoors 50, 60, 110 and 160 events.
Kim spoke passionately about the fact that you don’t need to be a ‘sporty kid’ to be able to run – running is for everyone.
Kim’s presentation was followed by a talk about the 4K Race at Kirkbymoorside’s 10K on Sunday 5th May – a race for anyone from Year 7 students upwards, including individual medals and prizes for the best team score and best dressed team.
