2022 Event

The 20th anniversary running of the KIRKBYMOORSIDE 10K will take place on Sunday 1st May 2022.

After the cancellation of the 2020 race due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent cancellation of the race in 2021 we are pleased to finally be coming back for the 20th staging of this fantastic local event.

Those runners that were entered into the 2020 race that chose not to take a refund when the race was cancelled due to the pandemic are automatically entered into the 2022 race and do not need to take any action.

Preparations are well underway for the 20th running of this fantastic and popular road running race taking place in rural North Yorkshire. Part of these preparations is the recruitment of the volunteers, without them, this event could not take place. If you are not able to run but would like to help then please visit the volunteer page to find out more.

The day will kick off as usual at about 11:45am when the Beadlam Tractor Run, raising money for The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, will parade through the town. Following the tractor run we will kick off the running at 12:55pm with our ever popular ‘Toddler Dash’ which is open to children up to the age of 6 (year 2). Then it’s on to the ‘4km Fun Race’ at 1pm open to young people from 11 upwards; this takes in a local loop on quiet country roads with the finish down our high street with cheering crowds on both sides.

At 2pm we start the main event – the Kirkbymoorside 10k race. After the 10k runners have left the town we have our last race – the ‘Children’s 1 Mile’ which is open to children from 7 to 11 (key stage 2); again this finishes down the high street and the kids love the atmosphere created by the crowds.
